I think our troops surprised even themselves about how fast they took Baghdad they could barley get organized, much less protect everything.
As far as protecting the Oil Ministry building- Oil is Iraqi’s bead and butter. Protecting this valuable resource will help rebuild the country much faster than letting it get destroyed.
