Well, wasn't eliminating Saddam on Bush's agenda before 9/11 ?

The ROW saw in an invented connection between OBL and Saddam merely a pretext for war.

Then WMD's became the argument, taking the UN into the action.

But the ROW saw again in the WMD another pretext.

If it turns out to have been the case all along, then it wholy justifies what the Old Europe has said about attacking Iraq.

The UN inspectors should be allowed back, just to be objective about the search, otherwise the ROW could very well believe the US army might be tempted to put WMD's somewhere, find them and pretend it is the smoking gun.

If it turns out that indeed no WMD's were left in Iraq, I just hope the population of the US will realize what its president has done.
