I suspect my comment may generate some unwarranted angry replies. But let me be clear. I don't think it can be said that those Americans "died for nothing" even if it turns out Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. We should be very proud of their sacrifice.
However, if it turns out that the Bush administration deliberately exaggerated or manufactured claims about Iraq's so-called WMDs, the dynamics of the political debate will change. If this is the case, the positive afterglow of regime change will taint.
