Unless the online subscription services are also being restricted, no one can make a serious case for censorship. The articles are still out there. People just have to go to a little more trouble, and perhaps some expense, to get them.

If online users are going to use NYT articles to pillory the NYT, why should the NYT not make a little money off of their critics? They're not a charity, nor are they a government agency.
