Schwarzkopf is to blame for a good part of it.

That's why he has kept a relatively low profile. He allowed military helicopters to be flown in the ceasefirwe agreement. Bush was furious when he found out. Cheney was p-d off as well.

It was a real scene. Bush was threatening a continuation of hostilities until it was pointed out that Schwarzkopf had indeed left a HUGE loophole.

Schwarzkopf was only thinking about what would pose a danger to OUR forces and not thinking about what they would use to strike down a rebellion.

The Iraqis we're overjoyed when they got that concession to fly "government officials from city to city in military helicopters."

It shows why it is so important to NOT be magnanimous with totalitarian regimes.

The UN and the left are to blame for letting him off the hook for twelve years.
