Europeans are very much aware what freedom is and if socialism can go together with freedom, which it has done, then they'll accept it. But if there's too much control, then they'll reject it.
There are elections in Belgium next sunday. Perhaps the same parties will re-merge, perhaps the extreme-right will gain more voices, perhaps the socialists will get more. We'll see.
