There's nothing new under the sun

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here, but I think it's indisputable that the FAA has the responsibility to notify NORAD when a plane goes off course or loses transponders. It is then NORAD's responsibility to intercept the errant plane, find out what is going on, get it back on course, force it to land, or even shoot it down, if necessary.

The Bush Adminstration is currently working overtime to supress, cover-up or reclassify information which makes it quite clear that its highest officials, including the president, his national security advisor, the secretary of defense, and others, received specific warnings about methods, timing, and potential targets in the days leading up to Black Tuesday.

That the Bush Adminstration was well aware of the threat posed by skyjacked airliners is underlined in the measures taken during the G8 summit in Genoa, Italy just a few weeks before 911. To prevent skyjacked airliners from being crashed in the summit site, that location was ringed with air defense assets, and Mr. Bush spent his nights aboard an aircraft carrier in the Mediterrean.

In the light of these warnings, if the brass did not maintain a high state of readiness at the Pentagon, have planes on strip alert at Andrews, and have air defense assets such as AAA, SAMs, and radar at the ready around our military headquarters, then you have criminal negligence, at the very least, or treason.

Finally, I notice you didn't have any comments about the curious behavior of the president and his secret service detail immediately after he was informed that "America is under attack."

Apparently, you think that nothing is out of the ordinary when, under these circumstances, the chief exec is more interested in a children's reading program, than the fate of his nation, and the secret service takes no action to protect him, but rather allows him to remain in a well-publicized location in close proximity to a busy airfield while airliners are being hijacked and used as weapons.

Contrast this curious inaction with the reported manhandling to safety of VP Cheney by the secret service.

No meat? I beg to differ.

YoursTruly
