Re: There's nothing new under the sun
That the Bush Adminstration was well aware of the threat posed by skyjacked airliners is underlined in the measures taken during the G8 summit in Genoa, Italy just a few weeks before 911.
It wouldn't surprise me...it was a summit, after all. 9/11 was just another day at the office, until Al Quada commited mass murder.
The point of my previous post was that the citations made in the linked article (in my previous post) don't really offer any support for the assertions that article makes. The military might provide aircraft if it can, and then only under some fairly tight restrictions. The writer of the article makes it sound like the sky should have filled with fighters within minutes of the hijackings, but the "support" material makes exactly the opposite case.
Proponents of this theory are going to have to find some real evidence. A paper trail, a high-ranking whistle-blower...something more than innuendo and supposition.
All I see is a hatred of the President so deep and maddening that I bet your eyes vibrate. You're going to have to come up with better evidence if you want to win hearts and minds.
Finally, I notice you didn't have any comments about the curious behavior of the president and his secret service detail immediately after he was informed that "America is under attack."
Because I didn't then, and I don't now, find it particularly vexing. What's he supposed to do, climb a building and swat at planes? And you find it odd that he didn't immediately board AirForce One, given the existence of an unknown number of hijacked aircraft over the nation?
You have shown us exactly nothing, although I encourage you to keep trying. You'd become quite (in)famous if you could prove your accusation. Keep on chuggin'.
