Current Events » in reply to Bagdad's Republican Guard Bribed Before Invasion

re: Hey . . . !!

"Bush & Co" is my line!!

The only "bribe" the Rep Guard received was the promise not to be shot if they left the Coalition Forces alone -- preferably while vacationing in Syria.

On April 8, al Tikriti was ferried out of Iraq by a US aircraft along with 20 family members. To cover for his absence, US forces let it be known that al Tikriti had been killed while fleeing in his Subaru.
Convenient.

As American forces pushed towards the capitol city, US troops went days without being resupplied with water and food because the supply lines were being harassed and there were too few soldiers to safeguard them.
Patently untrue.

The supply-line was thin, due to the rapid advance, and the supplies were slowed due to some fighting along the line – and a hell of a lot of wind and sand from a sand storm that lasted a day and a half. The troops couldn’t even see their own feet, the dust was so thick, and cutting across them in a horizontal gale. No amount of troop build-up would have changed a supply line that was unable to move. Pitt, in all his masterful grandeur, might be able to control the weather of Iraq, but the puny U.S. Armed Forces, admittedly, cannot -- yet.

The Fall of Baghdad came not with a bang, but a whisper.
That’s what happens when you decapitate a hated regime.

Interesting ideas, but no concrete evidence to back them. And no matter how many times he (or you in your posts) repeat the bribe-hypothesis, it doesn't make it any more real.

Cheers,
Dan

William Rivers Pitt may well be a New York Times best-selling author, but he don't know beans about scientific/journalistic notation. I’d like to see his evidence regarding al Tikriti’s current condition.
