I sort of got the idea that Hamas didn't approve of the roadmap from the very beginning when they embarked on a constant barrage of attempted and successful terrorist and military attacks on Israel.

While this is another example of a ham-fisted Israeli military attack (cripes, have they ever heard of snipers?), it's facetious to pretend that Hamas would have come around if it hadn't occurred. Naturally, this will get wide play as Israel screwing up the peace process. Never mind that they pulled out of Palestinian territory, released Palestinian prisoners, and made a start at dismantling outposts, all while Palestinian extremists continued their attacks.

The Palestinian extremists want Israel dead, dead, dead. There is no alternative in their minds. This would not change if you offered them all of the Arabian Peninsula as a homeland. It's going to be hard to find a middle ground here.
