Actually Barry...

...I recall engaging in a vigorous debate about the Mars Society's "research" efforts on this very board. Its one of the few times you and I may find common ground. I don't think trapsing around in canvas spacesuits pretending to be Mars explorers rises to the level of "research." Good fun maybe. An interesting vacation maybe. But its certainly not serious work.

And, for the record, I never called the science team leader for the Beagle 2 a "fraud." I did say that I thought his fund raising effort was a "scam." I was wrong. It cost me $100 bucks which I honorably paid well before Mars Express ever lifted off. Let it go, Barry. I have.

As for the Viking labeled release experiment finding life...most planetary scientists don't believe that it did. That's a fact. The best that can be said is that the experiment was inconclusive. Let it go, Barry. You'll feel much better. Trust me.
