The bottom line is real simple.
Reverse the races in the Michigan cases policies:
X number of caucasoid applicants must be accepted each year.
Caucasoid apllicants receive 20 points towards their application over other minorities.
Overt racism! Ku Klux Klan mentality! Institutionalized whiteness!
The law is the law. Either there are no special races or there are preferred races.
I find social policies such as Michigan's immediately discriminatory and degrading. It immediately places blacks, mexicans and asians as inferior races (aka inferior people) who need a handout so they will not end up in the gutter or in the penitentiary.
It's an automatic inferiority complex issued to the applicants of any race other than caucasoid.
Yes, many will smile and take advantage of the ridiculous policy - but at the same time they subconsciously accept the fact that they are somehow inferior and handicapped or are perceived as such by the world. To me, that would be worse than any epithet hurled in my direction as long as I knew I had earned my spot in the university through my own merit - and not my race or color.

- Supreme Court Verdict on Affirmative Action
- "Racial criteria are irrational, irrelevant, odious to our way of life and specifically proscribed under the Fourteenth Amendment."
- Sounds fine to me
- Actually, it sounds like a more common sense approach to Affirmative Action
- It sounds like they decided racial discrimination is legal so long as it is not a formal written policy
