Supreme court rulings are just statement of the law

I don't have the research nor the legal chops to find an executive order that corresponds to a supreme court ruling. If you want to call that blowing smoke, then I hope it brings you much pleasure.

However, executive orders are just presidential directions of how things will be done. If cleverly crafted, these orders can make parts of the law moot, even laws that have been ruled on by the supreme court.

I don't think that unconstitutional executive orders would have much shelf life (think suspending habeus corpus, and martial law, etc.). Likewise, they can only last till another president decides he doesn't like them.

Both parties use them to good effect.

On the other hand, the statement you quote was a bit of bluster that was destined to become an oft-quoted sound-bite. Gep deserves whatever shit befalls, for being such an idiot.
