Twenty years now
Where'd they go?
twenty years
I don't know
sit and I wonder sometimes
Where they've gone
And sometimes late at night
When I'm bathed in the firelight
The moon comes callin' a ghostly white
And I recall
Bob Seger, "Like a Rock"
Twenty years ago today, my wife and I got married in the smallest ceremony legally allowed. We were still in college but older than most of our classmates. That same week, "US News & World Report" had a cover story titled "Big Weddings, They're Back" about how people were spending many thousands (often tens of thousands) on their weddings. Frankly, I think that's insane but it's their money. All included, we spent less than $200 and that included my ring. Twenty years later, we're still going strong. I wonder sometimes how many of those couples profiled in the article can say the same.
Twenty years. Twenty good years. I look forward to many more.
