Funerals are for the living
As are cemetaries.
As you see more of your relatives and contemporaries die, you will understand that better.
That said, it's a good idea to pre-pay and specify your desires for your own funeral. Families sometimes feel pressure to overpay to prove their love for the family member whose memorial it is.
But since we are all going to live forever, we infrequently think to do this.
