"Unfortunately, I did not find this document at the official UN site. Does that mean that it wasn't there?"

Your point? Are you saying that paperwork is analogous to WMD? I see this as an entertaining rhetorical parlor trick, but I make it a policy to ask the originators of rhetorical questions to answer their own. And yes, I have read 1441 and prior piles of UN welfare-for-scribes-and-bankrupt-noble-born papers.

Yes, lets both agree that Iraq was a bad bad bad dog. Wonderful. Lets both agree over and over and over that the Iraqi leadership had WMD at one time and that they did not cooporate with the UN to the level they should have. I feel righteously indignant already!

Regardless and all aside. None of this speaks to the central issues here. Our government claimed certain knowledge that Iraq was conspiring with terrorists. Our government claimed certain knowledge of not only the existence of WMD, but where their production facilities were and where the supposed WMD themselves were. Our government claimed, also, other facts to be true: such that Iraq was trying to purchase weapons grade nuclear material from other countries.

Of these claims, two were outright false and disprovable before the war (purchase of Nuke material and terrorist connections). Of these claims, the remainder in their entirety have not been demonstrated as true, and were not even supported by weapons inspections teams in Iraq in the lead up to the war.

The point here is that you don't kill 10-15,000 folks because their leaders were bad or dishonest- unless their leaders posed SUCH a treat to our civil society that it is justified to kill them to save ourselves. This is what was claimed. This is what is still not demonstrated AFTER THE FACT or BEFORE THE FACT.

This is the fundamental difference between self-defense and outright murder.

". Waiting around for ET to strike after knowing what ET has done and is capable of doing is not fun."

I see, Iraq struck us When and Where with WMD? Or are you unable to tell the difference between a dozen+ Saudis and a nearby country? How did you come to your decision about who struck us? The commentary of the Bush Administration?
