re: The stakes are high

I'm a "fix what we can, when we can" kind of guy. I don't think we have enough data on global warming to make dire predictions yet. Man may be having an adverse affect but even so the affect seems to me to be pretty irrelevant. When you take into account the difference in magnitude between man made green house gasses escaping into the atmosphere and nature's dumping of huge amounts of dust and volcanic ash into the atmosphere every time a volcano erupts, I think the little amount we are releasing is pretty insignificant to the temperature of the earth.

Now pollution, that's a real sore point with me, because that'e what were breathing, drinking and eating. We can be responsible in how we clean up our immediate areas and improve the quality of life. It can also be paid for by the polluting industries, as it should be.

If we had all the money in the world to throw at global warming, I'd throw my weight in with it. The reality is we don't. I strongly believe that if we were to adopt the Kyoto accords, the little economical dip we are facing now would be a pimple on the crater of the second great depression we'd be facing. We don't have the resources to charge the global warming windmill, so lets turn to the bite sized problems we can solve. In the meantime lets keep researching Global Warming and keep an eye on it.
