Sigh.
MA,
Taking one's self seriously or not has nothing to do with respect for the work they do.
It is a warning about being pompous about one's self.
The inability to laugh at the foibles everyone faces intheir work, and the ability to mistake where one sits as being the middle of the universe, is what Rule G is about.
I could point out things I have done with and for libraries, and things my family has done for libraries, but what is the point?
I could even talk about the good times I have had volunteering in libraries, but that is not the point either.
The point is that you have never acknowledged the only point I started, and correctly made in this topic:
That Castro is a real problem, and gets a free ride, while President Bush (to you) never gets even a secon's hesitation in being called every name available.
And you put words into my mouth about Bush being a saint. I have mostly spent time here with people like you pointing out that he is not a dunce, appointed, a grand conspirator, etc.
BTW, why are you more afraid of Ashcroft, a guy who ran and won elected ofice to three different state wide positions, than you are worried about a guy who came into power as a revolutionary, and has kept power ever since, even rewriting the constitution to make himself keeper of all in his country?
Instead of ever answering those points directly, you choose instead to talk about the dangers YOU see in a law passed by our congress with large bipartisan votes. The actions Ashcroft is taking are under that law. He is not acting out of some deep dark cnspircy he is in with President Bush.
Since you and I are still debating, and unfortunately ever more vociferously, I would suggest that you, not me, are the prophet.
As to front organizations, is it possible that any organization that whitewashes and indirectly or directly sustains a vicious tyrant is an org with an agenda?

But of course you will respond with another deflection.
After all, those on what is perceived to be the right don't deserve to be spoken to directly.
I have pissed you off, and for that I am terribly sorry. But you refuse to answer specific points, and perhaps that brings out the worst in me,as apparently it does you.
