The fundowackos outnumber the moderates 2-1, and they outnumber the infidels almost 12-1. The Indys and Dems don't even come close to that level of polarization. Which, after all, was precisely the point I was trying to make.
What that table tells me is that all the reasonable, common sense Republicans became Independents. At least on this issue, their profile is almost indistinguishable from the Dems.
