Actually, I'm surprised the creationist fraction for Dems is as high as those figures seem to indicate. I suspect those are rural and southern conservatives who have registered Democratic in their states for primary voting purposes, or because their communities are dominated by Democratic party machines. Or maybe its the prevalence of black fundamentalist Christians in certain communities.

you must certainly concede that regardless of what the figures indicate, the evangelicals seem to hold much more influence on the right than on the left. They're always yakking about how god is on their side, and their political foes are so unChristian.
