I suppose its possible that the conversation was fake, and that the personnel of our intelligence agencies are too stupid to figure this out, not having the brains and perception we do. If you are proceeding from that point, I'm not sure where to go from there.
I'm not proceding from any assumption. I'm only asking for enough information to put the intellegence you quote into perspective and evaluate it by my own standards. If it doesn't matter to you whether the quote was from 1990 or 2000, then I'm not sure where to go from there.
As for the 9/11 connection, a lot of Americans couldn't find Iraq on a map if their lives depended on it. A lot of Americans think socialism works too. What's your point?
To be honest, if I was trying to prove something by my statement, it would be a fallacious arguement that you should call me on. It would be the same arguement you use when you seem to demand that anti-war protestors must also be pro-Iraqi-civilian protestors to prove they aren't communists.
Still, a) It drives you to nervous exhaustion that someone thinks that Bush deceived us, while b) it doesn't bother you at all that so many Americans think Saddam did 9/11. I don't offer this as proof of anything. It's just an amazing (to me) example of where your head resides.
