re: Yeah, why IS it so hard to get tis point accross?

Tom: I challenge you- I dare you! Find statements from Putin, Chirac, Shroeder saying "we know for a fact Iraq has WMD and terrorist ties"

Well, leaving aside your apparent assumption that France, Russia and Germany between them comprise the whole of Europe...

Putin:

Reuters - President Bush and Russia's Vladimir Putin warned Iraq Friday to disarm or face tough consequences, but the Kremlin chief also told his guest any action against Baghdad should be within U.N. rules.

Seeming to dismiss Bush's oft-repeated contention that Iraq, a Russian ally, represents a "unique threat" to world peace, Putin forcefully noted that other nations have weapons of mass destruction and ties to terrorist groups, including al-Qaida.

France:

Despite French opposition to a war in Iraq, the French military could assist a U.S.-led coalition should Iraq use biological and chemical weapons against coalition forces, the French ambassador to the United States said Tuesday.

Nothing on Germany as yet, but I only spent about ten minutes on this on Google, and frankly, your bar of absolute certainty is ridiculous.

The main point is that most of the world was at least conceding that Iraq may present a threat, or they wouldn't have set up a forced program of inspections in the first place. Nobody has sent U.N. WMD inspectors to Iceland. Why not?
