re: Why don't you read the October 2002 CIA report yourself...

"available here and see how uninformed you really are. Not that being confronted with the truth is likely to change your mind, but why not give it a go? Here are a few paragraphs to whet your appetite:"

Yes, Larry, I have read it. Again, none of that has turned out to be accurate.

Quote:"Since inspections ended in 1998, Iraq has maintained its chemical weapons effort,"
And these weapons are where?

Quote: "If Baghdad acquires sufficient weapons-grade fissile material from abroad, it could make a nuclear weapon within a year. "
And the program for this is where?

Quote:"Iraq's aggressive attempts to obtain proscribed high-strength aluminum tubes are of significant concern"
Not according to the IAEA and El-Baredei.

YadaYadaYada

So, the CIA didn't have its facts straight- why? Because they were pressured from above? Because the administration did not demand quality control? I don't know. I don't care. But they were wrong and the administration was wrong, and it seems we just went and slaughtered a WHOLE bunch of people for no reason. NOTHING that was claimed before the war has bourne out. Thats what profound here. Not your supposed perfect knowledge.

"And next time you try to argue with someone who works in a given area, think of how utterly ignorant you end up appearing. "

You know whats just dead-dog sorry about you, LarryJ? Its that you don't know your facts from a hole in the ground and DEMAND respect. Its that you give NOBODY on the other side of the debate any respect, but DEMAND respect yourself. Its that you can't support yourself in a debate, and then hide behind your Job- which supposedly gives you perfect knowledge. Its that your wrong just about as much as everyone else, but call other folks 'utterly ignorant'.

also, let me re-iterate from 6 months ago:

"Where have I disagreed with you on issues of militarty battle planning? Hmmm? And HOW does your expertise in military History and operations make you an immediate authority on the issue of this being a war of liberation or not? [added today:] Or about this issue?

Just had to point out that your expertise just MIGHT not extend or weigh here, and you JUST MIGHT be wrong, and that you JUST MIGHT re-evaluate your correctness in this matter and even your desire to attack me personally in this discussion in light of those considerations."

You sound like grondine, talking about your expertise and perfect knowledge. So what- you served your country in intel for a long time- so has my father in law... He would disagree with your opinion.
