A few thoughts...

The lack of response so far could well be due to the site's technical problems today. Things are better now, but it's very likely that people who couldn't get in earlier today have written-off the site until tomorrow. There's always a delay of several hours after a problem goes away before everybody notices.

As for your flame itself, seems to me that it's not really a flame (yet). You're venting your feelings, which is OK with me. But your grievances aren't entirely clear; notice that several people interpreted your post as a broadside at the HabitableZone in general. Generally a flame is a way of confronting specific people about some specific incident or behavior that's given offense.

Maybe you're being vague because you're trying to be discreet about something that happened in private; I know you've been trying to have private email conversations with at least one person. The problem I would have with that is that Flame is a place for airing grievances about things that happen on the HabitableZone. A while back somebody posted a flame directed against somebody unknown in these parts whom he accused of stalking him, and I had to wave him off from pursuing that here. If this is about some incident that didn't happen here, please don't flame here.

If this is about something that has happened here, then I'd suggest you take the time to write out an "indictment" describing who did what to you and why it's offensive. That'll let the rest of us understand what's going on, and give the accused something to respond to.

Hang in there, Jacob. Although the Zone hasn't been around for four years, I understand that you're counting time back to the MSNBC days. That makes you a solid member of the community, and obligates us all to thrash this out. Don't give up on us, and we won't give up on you.
