re: Convention on naming newly discovered planets?
If they are named according to discoverer, then pretty soon, Marcy, Butler, et al may have catalogues of their own a la Messier and Herschell. Maybe when the planets are actually photographed. For now, the names have to be approved by the IAU. Ultimately, I think these planet hunters should some credit.
