AIIIIYYYY!!!! (Java Jitters... AKA the 'jives')

Java hackers out there:
Never compile and build Client/Server software on a JDK that is older, but in the same series (java sdk 1.4.0_01, jre 1.4.0_04 ) as the JRE you use to test it. You will end up with subtle and entirely 'believable' errors that have nothing to do with anyhting, you will spend 10 work hour combing through WebServer configuration files, Log files. Your BloodPressure will spike by about 100/50 points, and you will have the distinct desire the start going 'Samsonite Ape' on the terminal.

Basically, anytime you see a .permissions error on a client-side SAXbuild off of the web dir on the server, check the derived URL client-side and THEN check your java versions.

Man, I was even inside the Java URL implementation AND the tomcat source believing I had actually found a bug in Java or tomcat.

Meanwhile, another 10 hours just ticked off my clock, AND I have to buy a car tomorrow....

Don't get me wrong, Java is the most civil and philosophically astute language since Latin, but DAMN the trivia factor!

Sigh.

Another hint:

When all else fails, go buy a fast car. Its worth it.
