I was even inside the Java URL implementation AND the tomcat source believing I had actually found a bug in Java or tomcat...

I've had similar episodes, but then I just kick myself and mumble "I'm not that good...the mistake's gotta be mine." I strongly suspect, tho, that you're in an entirely different league than I am, so maybe you could find such bugs...and know what to do with them if you did.

When all else fails, go buy a fast car. Its worth it.
