It wasnt tandem or static line, the instructors did jump with me.

Yes, but you weren't "strapped to anyone", thus by yourself. . . The instructors went with me two. They do it in case the person panics so they can pull the chute. One of them said that 50% of students in a large class fail to pull it themselves.

Now my commute takes me to 14,000 feet...

That reminds me, how is the skydiving in Hawaii? I was throwing around the idea of trying to go there for my second tour. I am sure it is very expensive. Its really easy for my job.
