re: Ummm

"Since GB the Second has proved to be not a small govt, principled, non-poll driven, open and honest president*.......then why should you vote for him, again with the "Not Dean or Kerry" caveat?"

Well, I don't think Bush is poll driven. I also don't think that even Clinton was poll driven. Every political leader should look at polls; make sure polls are accurate and that you are interpreting them correctly. Political leaders need to know where their public is. But this does not mean leaders should do what the "mob" wants done. I don't want to follow the course of action of what 50% or more of the public believe is correct. I don't believe in being ruled by a committee. Have a committee, have it look at problems, have recommend actions, BUT you need a leader that actually leads- which means listening, and then DECIDING on the actual course of action to take.

Also I have no complaint with Bush regarding his being open and honest.
As far as not pushing for a smaller govt, I do have a problem. But National Security is simply the Federal govt highest priority.
