Why do so many wish so hard to rewrite what actually occurred? The threat was direct, and very real, and directed against Western influence in the Middle East (i.e., Israel, Turkey, & Kuwait), the Western nations of the world in general, and the United States of America in particular (i.e., not Belgium in particular, and not France in particular) -- and time was running out.
Less than six months ago, that is where the facts of real history stood.
The invasion is now done, but far from over, and the time to move to resolution is now (i.e., today), and France "continues" to drag its feet. I’m glad to see some progress with France, but far more is needed. Ask Don if the United Nations (including France) should just get over themselves and start saving Iraqi lives.
