The oppnents of the war were opposed to the war long before it started and they knew the war would be won but also that winning the peace was much more important and infinitely more difficult to achieve.
If there are war opponents, it's simply because there have been wars in the past and they knew how several of them ended and also that a previous Iraq war had much more international support and a very simple straightforward reason: rid Kuwait from its Iraqi occupants.
I'd say that war opponents have a better memory.and a better understanding of colonial times..
