To be more accurate their actual position is that they didn't have enough positive evidence to raise it to the level of being included in a State of the Union speech. Wilson was a part of that. I don't recall them saying the idea was "guff."

As for the media, the pundits, the articles, the blogs, and the rest, pretty much every damn story and document I could find debunking the uranium-Africa connection, including those issued by the CIA, rests largely on the fulcrum of Joseph Wilson's trip to Niger and his report. In some he is just an unnamed person, like in the CIA report. In others, he is named.
