Bustamante claims lawyers are now looking into the allegations (16 at last count), which implies a more thorough investigation may soon follow, if it's not in the works already. From what I can tell from the current reports, all are beyond statute of limitations, so are moot-crimes which cannot legally be acted upon. they may still be written about and broadcast, as testimony from the victims remains useable, so long as Schwarzenegger does not prove these to be mere slander in a court of law.

It may also take more than a month before the results of today's vote are compiled and revealed to the press, which allows a very large window for these allegations to be reviewed, researched, and submitted to the California court system to oust a new governor before he even sees his seat of office.
