Whats your excuse? Oh, yes, I know. Iraq is the backyard of the arab muslim fundamentalists, dispitre Iraq not being an ethnically Arab, ideologically fundamentalist or even predominantly sunni. And yes, we (like cowards) got to move the battleground with terrorists to Iraq.

Yes they are ethnically Arab, predominately fundamentalist and muslim.

Other than the Kurdish minority, I believe the Iraqis are Arabs. Perhaps you are thinking of the Iranians.

I said fundamentalist not terrorists. I think certain religions are by definition fundamentalist while individuals may or may not be fundamentalist based on the way they practice their religion.

In a recent post MA characterized certain acquaintances as fundamentalist because they wear head covers and declare themselves fundamentalist. The vast majority of religious people in this country do neither, while the vast majority in Iraq do.

In a religion that practices jihad the potential for violence to erupt is ever present. How they manifest jihad probably depends on the cleric they follow. In any case muslims meet most criteria for fundamentalism.

Certainly they are not predominately sunni, they are predominately shiite, which is equally or more fundamentalist.

Sorry you think choosing the battlefield is cowardly. I think of it as tactics.

You have a perfect right to your opinion of the war, as do I. The only difference between us is, the day we leave Iraq in a condition no better than we found it and with the job not finished, I will admit that we should have never gone there to begin with.

My impression of your stance is that you will be telling your grandchildren what a huge, immoral, mistake it was regardless of the outcome.
