Agree whole heartedly about the need for further research. A friend of mine is currently doing a PhD on MCP suit technology. He feels that the first application is simple gloves, applicable to orbital operations, followed by a suit with pressurised torso but MCP limbs for lunar applications, and a full MCP suit for Mars. He is also active in analogue research to dtermine what are the requirments are of field science and engineering in terms of dexterity, mobility, tactility, etc.
