The glove they use at MDRS and FMARS are not the best for flexion comparisons. I believe there skiing or snowboarding gloves.
The LPA suit (Low Pressure Analog) would use common rubber gloves with rotary bearings at the wrists, shoulders, waist, hips and ankles. The waist would open something like the EMU does to let you put on the suit. You would have quick disconnects incorporated in the wrist bearings and maybe the ankle bearings as well.
An experiment you can perform to get an idea of what it would be like to wear gas pressure glove is:
--Buy two sets of gloves one heavy duty rubber extra large size and one set refinishing or household light duty large size. (Two sets of large will work there just harder to fit inside each other).
--Buy two 4" (102 cm) plastic pipe couplings and a two hose clamps to go over this with room to spare.
--Place one glove inside the other so the heavy duty one is on the outside.
-- Place the coupling inside the wrist area of the gloves and hose clamp this all together. Loosen the clamp and pull the inside glove out just a bit. tight is all back up and now put your hand inside. The outside glove should puff up a bit. There is to much air if you can't put the thing on. So just loosen the clamp a little bit and push your hand in enough to let some air out.
--Repeat for the other hand...
Try doing work with a set of these on for a few hours. This is not a prefect analog for the EMU gloves but does give you a feel for what it must be like.
(I must have far to much time on my hands to do these things...)
