This seems like a real now-or-never time for NASA to really start exploring space again. If after all this we end up keeping the shuttles, the space station, and building the OSP I will give up entirely on seeing humans on Mars within my lifetime (I'm 44). Probably not even the Moon. If Bush does announce a return to the Moon he'll probably figure some angle with the war on terror. LOL
What the hell is wrong with O'Keefe and this OSP crap? The last thing we need is another spacecraft that can't leave orbit! Dump the Shuttle and the OSP and build cheap durable capsules that can be launched ontop of our CURRENT heavy lift rockets. The Ruskies can launch 25 Soyuz for the cost of ONE shuttle launch. Let's crank out some launchers and capsules with existing technology and get going already!
