P.S. slightly more accurate experiment:
Using "Republicans seized control" and "Democrats seized control" as single phrases, I got 407 hits for the first, and 96 for the latter. You are correct that context is important, and this is not conclusive. Ideally, one would do this kind of thing on Nexis to get real press bias, but that costs money.
