I know if I had a Holo Deck, a replicator, and my own Fusion power plant to run them I would never be the least bit concerned about building a real spaceship or spending my life out traveling years between the stars searching for the unknown, maybe nothing when I could have whatever I wanted and any adventure I could imagine.
The present state of video games even the virtual reality glasses is not enough to be a substitute for the real thing.
