re: Computers & simulations end drive to explore?
There are always going to be those who rise to the challenge of realizing their potential, and those who don't (or can't). The key, I think, is providing the widest and most accesible range of opportunity to as many as possible...ideally, everyone. Then it becomes a matter of aptitude, drive, strength of character. If a young person should choose playing XBox over getting an education, so be it. It's just a terrible pity they can't see how high a personal price they'll pay for that decision. But humanity, I'm sure, will march on.
