Lindy Lindy Lindy...

I honestly don't know where to begin. Your caricature of Bush, the man, is that of a cartoonish ogre. Do you really believe he cares absolutely nothing about deaths, the starving or other cultures?

That CIA-drug bit is overblown too. In the intelligence business, especially when dealing with covert operations, there will always be incidents and employees which turn. Bad cops, bad agents and bad decisions occur everywhere. The new Russian mafia is composed largely of ex-KGB who deal in drugs. If you think G.H.W. Bush in his 3 year stint as director of the CIA, after an appointment by Nixon, was orchestrating the drug trade - you're sadly misinformed.

To the left, the CIA is the hero when they leak a ominous position paper on Iraq to the press but the rest of the time they spend orchestrating drug smuggling and smugglers who keep inner city youths on crack cocaine?

Sure.

President Bush is not the antichrist, is not singlehandedly destroying the world, is not a moron or imbecile he is just an ordinary man in an extraordinary position. I do not say we should all hold "deep-seated love and respect" for him at all. I don't agree with a good number of his decisions, but I think he has been the right person for this moment in history - if only because he is not a closet europhile and has not developed the terminal case of kiss-posterioritis that other politicians who schmooze and deal their way to the top develop. He was not groomed for the position. He was, in fact, the family black sheep - which is a good thing.

Bush will come and go and yet the words of that post will remain true.

You may not value the USA or think that a de facto citizenship is a blessing, but I think you will find that many millions of people have absolutely no idea just how bad the world would be if the USA simply disappeared.

I'm sorry you feel you wasted your five minutes.
