Escape tower mass estimate

I just remembered that the Apollo Comman Module escape tower was jettisoned sometime around passing peak dynamic pressure. The escape tower was not carried into Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Therefore a significantly larger mass could be assigned to it. The earlier LEO launch cost estimate was 300 kg. One could probably triple that estimate if the tower was jettisoned at Mach 10. I suspect the mass of the escape tower was around a metric ton.
