I agree the C-130 is a versatile plane and my favorite multi prop plane. Probably the biggest agile tub in the sky. Once I saw one doing acrobatics in an air show I was hooked.
I don't understand how the Cessna could beat the Piper Cub, but I guess that's a personal view.
For home builds Dick Rutan's Varieze(sp) should make the hall someday. Light weight composte and unique design of that little pusher certaintly had a impact on aviation. The one I saw was powered by a VW engine.
