re: Flight

According to the last Ad Astra magazine, (there's an article on Burt Rutan) from 1908 to 1912, the world went from a total of ten airplane pilots to hundreds of airplane types and thousands of pilots in 39 countries.

After Lindbergh's flight, the number of US airline passengers increased from 5,782 in 1926 to 173,405 in 1929. US Airmail increased from 97,000 Ibs to 146,000 Ibs from april to september 1927.
