Space/Science » in reply to Military uses for the moon?

Not much that I can think of

The moon is just too far away to be of much use for military purposes, at least for the foreseeable future. Even as a base for some kind of super laser, it really isn't all that practical because any given point on the Earth's surface would only be targetable for about 8 hours or less per day. The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 restricts the moon and other celestial bodies to peaceful purposes, and other treaties like the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963 prohibit putting weapons of mass destruction in space.
