Why do you think they're "spitting in our eye" or "actively trying to thwart us"? Do you think maybe because they weren't "with us" in the first place? That maybe they FORESAW the problems we are now encountering? And that maybe, just maybe, they decided to extend a helping hand only to have Bush bite it off.

Please describe in detail the "helping hand" France and Germany offered us before the war started. I must have missed it somewhere.

And despite the convenient myth being propogated that "everyone knew" how the post-war situation would be, very few people foresaw the exact problems we are having now. There were dozens of things they did predict that never happened, but I guess that doesn't count for anything.

...Bush has managed to POLARIZE many people and nations against us in two very short years. His attitude and his mouth will help to take America down. Ugly American.......right.

There are damn few nations that dislike us now that didn't dislike us long before Bush was ever elected. The destruction of the World Trade Center was planned long before Bush was elected, and when we had zero troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The myth that Bush has suddenly created the anti-American crap going on is not true either.

And if you want to say you are more firmly planted in the real world than I am, knock yerself out.
