If wormholes were at all possible, the simplest solution would simply be to have a wormhole sunk to the core of the Sun, collect super-heated plasma and channel it to a wormhole mounted on the back of a small starship. The plasma would exit just like rocket exhaust. I think 100,000 gees acceleration or more could be expected if the wormhole were maintained. Have another pair of wormholes act as forward shielding. Then turn off the exhaust after 19 hours and coast for 7 days and you're in the Centauri system ready to establish a new wormhole transportation node. It all comes back to wormhole plausibility.
I think that the longer we think about the concepts the sooner the real solution will come.
Shielding: what about quantum teleporation... is it possible to transport the entire object? Not just the quantum state information, but also it's *existence* to another place? Doesn't quantity of energy in a particle constitute 'information' about the particle? How can this be teleported?
Anyways, back to this again later...
