This failure / glitch rate is demonstrating quite clearly the limits of unmanned exploration

We need to be sending people out there to run this exploration. We are proving, at very great expense, the limitations of unmanned exploration. It makes sense that if knowledge is really valuable, it is going to cost a lot to get it.
We have tried the academician and bureaucratic approach of 'cheap' unmanned exploration. Well nothing is more expensive than that which you pay for and fail to get.
We are running up a pretty impressive bill and all we have to show for it is debris on Mars and clever little ships in useless orbits.
It is time to start looking seriously at crewed expeditions, and giving them the resources to manage exploration from orbit and/or surface of Mars.
