re: best hope for contact with Beagle2
Hmmm...
How about putting some light weight, fine particulate, highly radar reflective material in the gas cushions used during landing?
If the spacecraft successfully lands, a radar return "signature" is received locating the landing site from the deflated cushions . If the spacecraft burns up, a completely different signature (or lack of) is returned.
I'd guess is depends on radar imaging instruments in orbit? Are there any?
Doug.
