NASA TV has been replaying the mission control room scene as the good news about the landing comes in bit by bit. Unfortunately, they no longer feed the announcements directly into the audio, so we see a quiet room that suddenly bursts into applause and cheering periodically for no particular reason.

I was beside myself last night when the NASA TV feed WAS giving us the play-by-play audio of tones received, data coming in, and other critical information, and the cable news networks kept cutting to their news guys chatting about what was going on while the mission control audio faded into the background. At the same time, I kept losing the NASA TV feed where the audio WAS being fed through. GAK!
